This ’Alligator Chew Toy’ is very heavy and made up of a very hard material, not what we consider a ‘chew’ toy. This was gotten for a sheltie pup to play with and help with his teething. It’s so hard his teeth slide right off of it, but he still loves it. They (Sheltie and the Weimaraner) had made it a ‘sling’ toy! We learned quickly to keep our feet and ankles out of the way! Because this toy is so hard it can cause damage to cabinets and furniture, depending on how rambunctious your breed of pets are. You will need to monitor and discipline and beware of smaller or older pets that may get in the way if your dogs love to sling their toys!! This toy is now limited to just only our Sheltie,and he has learned not to get wild slinging it. It’s a good toy for your medium to larger breeds, very durable!!I have a Pitt Bull/Boxer Mix. She can chew through almost anything. This toy was described as indestructible, however, 3 days later she chewed the nose off. The picture is only 7 days after her receiving the toy. The upside is she loves it and wants to carry it everywhere but I don’t let her because I don’t want her swallowing any of the pieces while I’m not watching.I have a one y/o 80 lb German Shepherd Pit Bull mix - SUPER high energy and needs to be kept active and engaged. I've tried a ton of different toys and this one is his favorite so far, and mine too, as it's already lasted an entire 7 days without breaking or tearing. That's world record in our house. The seller is also super communicative and helpful - they followed up to be sure we were happy (which we are). The alligator itself is harder plastic and then the middle part of softer, but surprisingly durable, where he chews a lot. He has a toy box and gets to pick out which one he wants to play with. It wasn't my first choice of toys honestly because I wasn't sure of the combination of the materials and how it would hold up, but the alligator is a top favorite and keeps him entertained. I also don't have to worry about bits tearing off or choking him, so this has turned out to be a great buy all around. Thank you!I waited a few weeks before writing anything about this product. Definitely surprising durable our Pittbull hasn’t broken it yet. He chews on it for hours and we don’t have to worry about him swallowing loose pieces or get the vacuum to clean toy parts everywhere.. Great toy definitely recommendThis monster is tough on toys! Our 10 month old lab "puppy" had his toy for 15 days and this is the progress he's made. I'd say it's holding up pretty well. I just don't like the thought of him injecting the pieces that he's chewing off. But that's to be expected with a puppy. The head and the tail are very hard plastic. This is not a toy that I use for play time with him because it can tear up your skin. I prefer a Kong for our play times.Lasted a while but my little Aussie tears through toys pretty quick! Lasted about 4 months before I had to toss it cause she started eating the toy. However, 4 months is pretty good for a dog toy!It is a cute toy and rather tough but my chewer had a hind leg off in about 10 minutes of presentation. It has otherwise held up. It is a bit smaller than represented for a large breed over 50 pounds.I recently purchased the Alligator Head chew toy. Both of my dogs love it. They constantly play with it throughout the day. They have several toys in their toy box, but this one seems to be their favorite. The younger dog is a chewer and she has been working away on it, but it is holding up!
